As a family, we all ran and walked in the Jingle Bell 5K in downtown Seattle on a very brisk Sunday morning. Gabe and I wanted to challenge ourselves to a wintertime run, and by the time it came to signing up, we had recruited a whole team led by the one and only Ginger Snap. There were 12,000 participants raising money for the Arthritis Foundation. Ginger wore heels before the race and attracted a lot of attention. She ran the 5K in running shoes, too much exposed skin, and her skirt hiked up just enough. It was a very fun event and the “7-foot” gold-sequined gal won 3rd place in the costume contest and was spotted blowing a kiss on Q13 Fox News that evening. Afterward the race we changed and had lunch with Susan. The boys loved every minute of that, as did we. Josh was proud of himself for doing the whole race while Luke liked riding along bundled up with bells on his coat sleeves.
