Merry Christmas!

The boys enjoyed waking up in their own beds this Christmas and sneaking down the stairs to see what Santa left in their stockings.  Their favorite presents was a watch for Luke, and Josh’s was Anakin’s Y-Wing Starfighter… a Lego creation that took about 5 hours to build with very little parental intervention or breaks on his part.  Liz loved her knife, and my new plaid flannel shirt.
It's been fun integrating our favorite family traditions this year. For me, it was listening to the Cinnamon Bear most nights in December, punctuated by a piece of candy to draw and keep interest. Although sadly we got through episodes 1 through 21 when I realized we were missing the last 5 episodes on the final CD.  Annoying...

For Liz, it’s all about the stocking. In her family that was the best part... And for both of our families, the rule was that you could open anything in your stocking without having to wake up parents first.   Everyone wins.

The boys' favorite new tradition was the Lego Advent calendar. They really looked forward to each opening up a small Lego toy every day in December, usually in the early evening after school and work.  Previously, they opened a daily waxy piece of molded chocolate.  The Lego City toys were much cooler.
