On christmas we had 2 hotel rooms, one in paragould and another in conway. For $59 we didn't want to check out on christmas morning and move out our stuff and change rooms for one night. The only other time this happened to me was in Germany when Mac and I missed the last train out of Rothenburg (5 pm) and couldn't get back to our prepaid hostel in Nurnberg. Now it was for sanity and convenience. Room #130 has been our little home as mom has been between two.
Great visit in Conway, free biscuits gravy and bacon for bfast, we visited great with Joe and Gail who inticed me with their onlinr pastime pogo (like I need more of that!)
It was balmy 60s today. We hit Starbucks on the way out of town, our first good cup of coffee since we got to Arkansas. We paid our respects to Grandma and Grampa Truhe in Vilonia. Back in the Gould at 4, Liz and I made a big push at Mom's old house while she watched the boys at the new place. We curbed the fish tank and overdue lounger. Wind howled and storms threatened, but held out as we packed.
We figure we can get the rest in one more load, and moving things to the storage closet in the garage. The 2 phone numbers our truck friends gave me didn't work, so there's still a lot set aside in the garage to giveaway or curbside when the weather clears.
We had Mexican dinner at the hotel and Luke fell asleep in the middle of it. I got a scanner and printer for Mom, got a small load, and set it up at the new place quite late. I'm glad Mom made this bold move to an apartment, stairs are bad. There's still a lot of work to do setting up the new place. I'm hoping John and Amanda will come back refreshed and ready for the next push. At least no more squirrel surprises, just endless boxes and organizing in a small space.
It's been another exhausting day, tomorrow we'll wrap up and drive 4 hours to St Louis. The boys are looking forward to seeing Matilda and Suzie, and we'll do a gift exchange. Josh says he'd like to marry Matilda, and Luke says that Suzie is his best friend and she can be on his team.
