first night

Another long day in the Gould. Today was warm, 60's. Bought gas for $1.24. I can't remember the last time it was that low. Breakfast at the hotel like the 3 before, rush there by 9, make waffles, order an omelette, cereal, juice and bad-but-hot coffee too. Dancing singing Santa went to Charlotte who makes the eggs. We're giving or throwing away easily half of mom's stuff. Not easy in a week, tho easier with 3 sibs there. Mom's been playing numb to it. She's blown away, sad, and happy by the possibilities of living out from under 40+ years of stuff and stairs. "We got a $50!" from the Wendy's drive-thru. Set up 42 candle luminarias outside Mom's house. We took the umpteenth load to mom's apt and went out to dinner. Chili's was open at 7:30 on Xmas eve. Margaritas and great service. Stopped by mom's house for another load and to surprise her with the luminarias. Only 8 or so were still lit tho. She appreciated it anyway. Back at mom's apt we lit a candle, turned off the lights and sang Silent Night. It was nice. At the hotel, the boys took warm baths to relax. Luke kept saying his stomach didn't feel good, he puked 3x and felt fine. Too many fries. Boys are still up at 12:15... Hope santa can find them asleep. Whew...
