On a cloudy Labor Day afternoon, Casey and the boys headed to Twin Falls State Park (Liz studied). We enjoyed the old growth forest and all the little creeks running down the mountain to the river. Josh walked the entire hike while Luke rode in the backpack most of the time. It was supposed to be 1.5 miles each way, but it sure felt like more! The book said it was supposed to be an easy hike for kids. Maybe, but it was a challenge for us.... ok me. I'd like to blame the 35# weight I carried uphill.
Here we are at the Twin Falls overlook. It took us a good 90 minutes to get there. Only 30 to get back though. The boys loved being called "cowboy" and "pardner" by the other hikers. (Could Luke be just a little more cute?)
I am constantly amazed by the awesome natural beauty within a few miles of our house. Why aren't we exploring the state parks and forests every weekend?
