Egg Fest 2008

Saturday was the "Smokin' in Seattle" Pacific Northwest Egg Fest 2008 at Lake Sammamish State Park. The Big Green Egg is a kamodo-style grill/smoker/cooker made of green ceramic that burns charcoal very efficiently. We do not own an egg, but enjoy the food that comes off of it. We went last year, invited by Peter & Janet (who do own eggs). We had such a good time, now we'd hate to miss it.
We enjoyed perfect sunny, mid-70s day. The boys had a good time in the sand pit, playing ball, and riding a wagon. Liz and I enjoyed eating delicious smoked food all day long from the chef volunteers. Peter's chili was a big hit, and I liked the hamburger/onion/bacon/cheese sliders as well.

That evening we had an awesome girls night out with Julie and Cindy at Belltown Bistro. Liz's first time in Belltown! The boys enjoyed a pizza and movie night with Candice. No photographic evidence, but we stayed out past 1 am, and our cheeks hurt from smiling.

Here's a video of Luke riding a wagon roller-coaster-style with some girls at the Egg Fest. Turns out that Josh got bit in the arm by the older one in pink because 'no boys allowed'. He still has the teeth-shaped bruise 5 days later! We were shocked that it happened, but Josh was pretty cool about it at the time.
