The Wedding

John and Amanda got married in Oxford, MS on June 13, 2009. Josh was the ring bearer and Luke was the back up ring bearer. Both boys took their roles very seriously.

Before the wedding, I helped Rogerdale get the groom's cake finished, replacing many of the chocolate dipped strawberries. Liz helped the boys get into their places and pictures. It all worked out in the end. It was a beautiful ceremony. One sweet moment was when they held hands and looked at each other while Chad Garrett sang 'I Will Be Here' and played guitar.

After the ceremony the reception was at the church hall. The punch was icy. There was a huge table covered with their favorite candy. The bride's cake was all-white with a fruity inside, maybe raspberries? And I ended up cutting and serving Rogerdale's chocolate cake with the "E" on top. The garter throw was to the youngest group of single "men" I'd ever seen. Apparently everyone in the church was married except for one of John's friends, so Josh ended up catching the garter. All the single ladies lined up as well for the bouquet. Before all the candy was gone, the couple whisked away amid a rowful of bubbles in a decorated limousine headed for Memphis and then Disneyland.
