Camp Sealth
We went to Camp Sealth this weekend. It was my first foray into leadership, and it went tolerably well. Enthusiasm gets me farther than actual planning and organization. We had a record number of families camping with us thanks to some last minute recruiting of the Averill-Bolam and Mohn-Birkel families from church. We stayed in the Misty Mountain lodges, so we had enough space for the 20 kids and 18 adults. We were tight in the girls' cabin, but we made it work. There was a hilly hike, canoeing, and lots of cooking over coals and eating. One highlight was the 2nd graders winning a gold record for their 80s dance routine. (It didn't hurt that we had the biggest group who clapped and cheered very loudly.) Another highlight was making and sailing the dream boats. It wasn't a small effort to have a group camp of this size, but it was sure fun, and lots of good memories for the kids.
