The sun came out and we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon picnic at Roche Harbor.
On a whim, we went to Friday Harbor to check out the boats, and lo and behold, a 21-foot electric Duffy boat was there waiting for us. Before we knew it, we had dinner on board, and set sail on a 3.5 hour tour.
It was a perfect night. Cool and sunny. The boat couldn’t go fast enough to really generate a lot of wind. On the way, we saw a seal! I caught him looking at us just before he gave us the flipper. Thankfully we didn’t hit bottom going around the seal’s rock. From the look on Captain Julie’s face after reading depth finder, I’d guess it was a fairly close one.
Luke zonked out for a few hours of the trip… our boys love to sleep on boats! We saw sea planes landing and taking off, lots of sailboats and giant orange jellyfish. What an unexpected adventure.
