No More Spelling

I remember when my parents used to spell in front of us kids and I pretended not to understand. The best secret I had overheard was that we were going to G E A U G A. L A K E, the amusement park in Ohio. I was so excited, and able to fill in Terry so we could keep our behavior in line. And sure enough, we went that same day.

Fast forward to yesterday, we were watching the Batman Bold and Brave cartoon. And this episode had starred Aqua Man, a well-intentioned but pompous superhero. At the end of the show, Liz said she had no idea Aquaman was such a .... <Pause>. And so I offered "P R I C K"? Then Josh said, a prick?

And that was the end of our days of spelling.
