July 4th

We woke up to another beautiful sunny day and decided we wanted to cheer at the big parade in Issaquah rather than ride our bikes in our own Timberline parade. Luke was so excited when it started with the fire engine, he just shook with delight and waved big at the firemen! The Averill clan rode their decorated bikes, including Mason's silver tinseled helmet and Evel Knievel shades.

After the parade and playing at the park, we invited ourselves over for a barbeque. The boys enjoyed swimming in Emilie's pool soooo much, as did we. Liz, Lauren, and Jackie whipped up a fabulous barbeque with all the fixings. By the end of the day, we were a shade darker and wiped out. It really was an amazing afternoon!

We came home and all took a long nap to get ready for the fireworks. We watched them up close at Sammamish Commons with 10's of thousands of our neighbors. Instead of walking for miles to get there, I dropped off Liz, Josh & Luke at city hall then parked by Pine Lake and rode my bike back. At the end of the amazing light show, we were able to get home in only 15 minutes. We were feeling pretty proud of ourselves.
