Our last day in Arizona we spent doing laundry, making beds, and cleaning up the house we had stayed in the past 6 days. Eleanor happily carried her magna-doodle pad with a portrait of her friend Anna around and around the gravel front yard. El seemed to have the best time of anyone in Arizona. She loved the beach and playing in the sand, and having everyone around.
We made a detour to see the Hoover Dam, which didn't disappoint. We checked into the Las Vegas Hilton and went to dinner at Benihani's Japanese Steakhouse. All 10 of us were seated around the same table, which was enjoyable. The kids liked the culinary show, and the food was great as well.
After dinner we hooked up with the Joneses and proceeded to old downtown Las Vegas, now known as the Fremont Experience. It was a huge covered street with a light show on the ceiling. There was a live band playing disco music. El liked the woman dressed in feathers. We headed back to our hotel at 9 pm, and somehow the kids kept it together despite there being very little for them there, besides the shark tank with the closed waterslide going through it. When we got back to the hotel, most stayed in while some went out on the town. Maybe you can guess which of us went out?
