Uncle Walter

The boys, Bridget, Liz and Casey took a road trip to Bremerton to hear Uncle Walter play guitar with Richie Havens. It was a beautiful, sunny Saturday. We made the ferry ride over with 2-3 minutes to spare. It was a 1 hour boat ride where we saw purple mountain majesty and an amazing sunset over Puget Sound. We arrived in the dark, just after 5pm as the sun is setting at 4:30pm now. The city of Bremerton was asleep. We still managed to find a great Mexican restaurant, and had dinner with Uncle Walter before the show. Josh opted not to go backstage, but I did and said hi to Richie. He was excited about listening to a new Duffy cd, an up and coming UK artist. The show started just after 8. We were seated in the balcony. The boys were a lot quieter than the patrons sitting around us, and clapped after each song. They ended the first set with "Here Comes the Sun" just before 9. We flew out of there and managed to catch the 9:00 ferry back to Seattle... this time by 1 minute. Thank you Ferry Fairy! It was a great night!!
