This weekend the family is in Portland. Well, most of the family except for Dru and me. The girl is finishing up week 3 post-ACL surgery for her right rear knee and still not putting much weight on it. She's not quite ready for a road trip. Next weekend we hope she is ready, since we are planning on taking her to Vancouver with us to stay at the Sylvia Hotel for some old world charm.
You'd think I'd be thoroughly enjoying this quiet weekend to myself to do anything I want, but I must admit, not really. I did manage to do some retail therapy and have to say it is quite effective. I can't wait to use my new rolling bag and veg in front of our first flat screen tv... All 27 inches of it. The wentmads and grandma Eleanor are headed for a German restaurant tonight while I'm headed for a bar in Seattle. It's a divide and conquer sort of weekend.
We are excited that Nana is flying out for a weeklong visit on Apr. 14, a week after her 70th birthday. We will enjoy having her here, although I will be in China for much of her trip. We all know she's not coming to see me anyway. :) Apr. 25 we head to San Diego to spend time with more grandparents and maybe find some sun that has alluded us all spring.
Boys are well. Moms are well. Dog is on the mend. All in all we are a very blessed bunch.
