After lunch at Alex's Pizza Palace (Johnny's Smoke Stak was closed on Mondays), we took a short tour of the campus. A few things had changed, like the bookstore would've been in this picture.
Here is the hockey puck, a central landmark on campus.
The patron saint of engineering is St. Pat, and here he is stepping on a snake.
We met up with LE Talley and her girls Erin, Sophia, and Audrey. Sadly I didn't take a picture of them with my phone (I'll have to add a photo of them later when I download them off the camera). The Talleys live in Houston, TX and they'd been driving since 3 am that morning.
We met at the gym, also called the multi-purpose building. We ran into 4 long-time staffers including our track coach, Sarah Moore (plus Travis B., Mark M., and John K.). Sarah and I were certainly mutt and jeff, as she's not quite 5 feet tall. She said she remembered me writing an essay about how hard it was to be tall... always being called big, not finding shoes, etc. I vaguely remembered that... it was 23 years ago! Then Sarah and Travis took us on a tour of the gym.
We saw the new varsity weight room and cardio room. Seriously amazing. When we were there, we shared with all the students.
Our Rolla experience ended with a trip to Slice of Pie. Yummmm....
