Casey finished her first triathlon on Sunday 8/17. It was the Danskin Seattle, with 4000 women in the huge event. She finished the 1/2 mi swim, 12 mile bike and 3 mile run in 1:51, faster than expected, and 2039th overall.
Highlights included: the bike ride across Lake Washington in the I-90 bridge express lanes, a beautiful summer morning, seeing many other moms she trained with during the run, and most of all.... having Liz, Josh & Luke cheering at the finish line!!!
All-in-all, it was a great experience that she'd like to repeat. Probably at a smaller event next time.
Oh yeah, Luke noticed Mama had numbers written on her arms and legs with black marker. On the day after the race, he thought that looked like a great thing, and tried it on himself!
